When finishing a hand-knotted rug the pile height is hand clipped by our highly trained artisans to achieve a smooth finish. By varying the clipping heights the pile is left with a less consistent and slightly rough cut appearance. This technique works well on less structured designs and creates a beautiful textured appearance and feel.
